On the initiative of three organisations, the CCOJB (Coordinating Committee of Jewish Organisations of Belgium), the Forum der Joodse Organisaties and the Belgian League against Anti-Semitism. Placed under heavy surveillance, this march was intended to be a citizen march and not a political one.
The rally, which was intended to be without banners or banners, echoed the "fear" felt in the Jewish community about the upsurge in anti-Semitic incidents in Europe, particularly since Oct. 7, the date of the Hamas terror attack in Israel.
